I believe that our military has been using it for years. Back in 1988 I was at a military trade show and multihopping field radios were a very hot item.

QCOM - CDMA and the Chinese Military

Mature response JA - I expected even less.

mslawyer - The US Secret Service use CDMA based military communications equipment, not commercial CDMA cell 'phones.

The Chinese Military can obtain similar military communications equipment from the Russians (most likely) or the Europeans, if they don't make it themselves.
