ld5030,

I don't know a whole lot about VOD. Haven't studied it.
As a consumer I want to choose from a list of 500 movies sorted however I want. I want the movie to play on my television at whatever time I want.

I would pay for that. I am not inclined to pay for movie channels. I don't pay for them. If ATHM and/or MSO's want my dough they will do this for me.

The MSOs don't want it because they haven't been able to identify its profitability. It might clog their headends too. ATHM goes along partially because of coercion and partially because the providers don't want to cooperate. This will change when AOL-TWX make it a hit. Bedsides, this is too far away from "content" and too close to facility. Bell is determined to make Excite go at the cost of gutting ATHM if need be.
