I think the problem most here have with the negative posts is that they are not based in fact. The SDMI meetings and all of the secrecy surrounding this new technology would make the scientists working on the Manhattan Project jealous. There is an enormous amount of "Future" revenues at stake in the Digital Music Download market, and all the Major Companies involved are not going to let the details out before the standards are set. The naysayers post as if they know what the future technology holds and that Intel, IBM, Lucent and all the rest don't know what they are doing. It still can go either way with EDIG. I think we all are aware of that, but posts saying that EDIG is only building prototypes and will get nothing else pure speculation with no basis in fact. I would trust Lucent advertising with EDIG and showcasing the "Puck" in their advertising before I trust SI posts from a few isolated contrarians. I would trust IBM sharing a booth at the Consumers Electronic Show before SI posts. These are irrefutable facts. I believe that the evidence surrounding the positives of EDIG far outweigh any negatives, therefore I feel safe with my decision to invest in EDIG but as always .... remain vigilant.
