I was curious as this seemed lower than last I looked so I went again.

The price to go from 128M to 256M was +$980 for non-ECC. Perhaps you took the increase and divided it by the number of RIMMS? Or perhaps the prices are different on the consumer lines than the small business ones. EDIT: Same +$980 for a consumer model.

EDIT: I also noticed on the back of the most recent PC Mag that Dell advertises "up to 733" -- haven't looked yet to see if they used to say "up to 800."
