Steve...it seems to me the stock has NOT been volatile of late. It's had a trading range mostly from the high 120s bumping up against 140. It broke through that finally which was great, and the China news bumped it back right below 140. In fact, it was giving buy signals AND not surprisingly, analysts chimed in with upgrades, and good news (including kyocera upgrade, which to me was essentially a QCOM upgrade, as it signalled that the company Q had sold the handset to was actually going to do well). But a lot of its volatility had been smoothed away recently. So as with any stock and any put selling, a bad earnings report could be a disaster.

I'd be curious on ed's position on this since he sold July 140s I think--thats why I started looking at July. On rare occasion I have even sold leap puts at higher strike than current price, and done okay (not on Q)

LOL! Dinner in New England with a certain poet sounds lovely. Where are you taking me? <gggg>

Of course by then, I'll have made so much money from my brilliant QCOM put sale/call buy that I'll be flying a certain oncologist to Paris for dinner in my Gulfstream. :)
