Danfan, Most definitely, no time limits to a cat; as we've seen again and again, the impact of a gap resounds over years. The problem with AVI is I don't see a gap. It lost 20% on 5/24/99, but a) that's insufficient, and b) it wasn't a gap; the loss happened intraday. As we know, however, I tend to miss things from time to time ... Ivan

MAT ON THE CATWALK New low's in, but yesterday's volume might be hard to top the way this is trading. This could be a long, slow burn of a major company's share price, which is the ideal cat scenario. Picking this one up somewhere below $8 is tantalizing. The caveat here is that it's an Estecat, really a two-day 50% plunge with only a 14% gap involved: chart.yahoo.com Nonetheless, one to keep an eye on. I've also added NKE as an honorary cat. Though all the losses were intraday, the prospects of being able to play this one as a cat are just too much for my salivary glands to overlook: chart.yahoo.com I should probably start a portfolio for special cats. Hmmm.
