Jeffrey,

Well, it looks as though my heeding my instincts on CYPB and my partial research on STAA are paying off. CYPB off 11% from where I sold yesterday, STAA up about 11% from where I went long via puts (so now I've beat the spread and the delta is getting higher -- nice for a day's work in the options game).

I want to keep an eye on CYPB. I think the company has shown a smidgen of added value, but the real upside is in expanded use of PROSORBA for milder forms of RA made possible by HCFA reimbursement. The market just assumed that was coming in pricing CYPB to 5 and change. In reality, it's not a slam dunk, and that's being priced in now. I'd say the odds of HCFA approval are better than even right now, but not by a lot. So my instincts say the new entry level would be in the low to mid 3s. My humble opinion based on my humble instincts.

What's yours?

I think you should check out STAA if you're in research mode this weekend. You might get another shot at <11 if you're lucky early next week, but I think it will have to be because of continued stock market malaise. Today's move came late on good volume and no obvious news other than turmoil among vendors of laser based eye care solutions. And those price cuts could be it. Smart money is bailing on laser producers, mainly out of VISX. A bit of it sees STAA as an alternative, is my take. Check recent volume. Showing signs of accumulation off of a triple bottom formed yesterday.

Have a good weekend.

Cheers, Tuck
