China information ministry rejects reports of delay on CDMA network
SHANGHAI (AFX-ASIA) - The Ministry of Information Industry rejected reports that the government is delaying construction of mobile phone networks using CDMA technology provided by foreign companies.

Ministry spokeswoman Yuan Fantai said she is aware of overseas media reports saying that foreign companies' bids to provide CDMA telecom equipment to China have been delayed but she is unaware of any government move to delay
CDMA projects. "I have not heard of any plans to postpone mobile phone construction projects. We are the government department responsible for managing telecoms and we have not issued any documents ordering the postponement of mobile phone projects," Yuan said.
