PCCW <1186.HK> plans HKT statement, lines up banks 11:00 25-FEB-2000 HONG KONG, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd said on Friday it requested the trading suspension in its shares in order to make a statement in relation to its merger proposal with Cable & Wireless HKT <0008.HK>. Banking sources in Hong Kong also said PCCW has lined up four banks to provide a bridging loan to back its acquisition. Bank of China, BNP Hong Kong, HSBC and Barclays Capital are expected to provide a loan in the region of US$10 billion to support PCCW's bid, but sources close to the deal said the final amount of the loan had not yet been set. finet.com.hk Think your post was more recent than mine.. but anyway, finally some news.
