Good day Frederick,

To be sure, the media has a LOT to do with it. You have always had different folks around but the media IMO has polarized each difference. And folks have sought out the media to express each minute difference.

A small example. Seen the local weather on your 10pm news lately? I live in a town of about 100k, yet we have the latest in color doppler radar each night telling us that there is STILL no rain in our area. We had a tornado watch just yesterday from noon until 11pm just because we were on the ""dry line"" system for the day. When we DO get a little rain, there are weather bulletins posted about every 5 minutes to tell us that thunder and lightening MAY accompany this rain, and on and on.........

does that shed ANY light on how the news media might deal with different ideas? Especially when they have to keep market share on a political campaign for two years now??

Oh, and what you said about the key ingredients of this country? Here is how Patrick Henry put it:

""It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.""

(highlight mine)

All were welcomed in this country.......still includes Christians.
