Niceguy767,

Thank you for the information on your portfolio and experience. It was very extensive and thorough and I appreciate that. :)

<With respect to your portfolio, rather than selling calls, you might consider sellng $37.50 puts. Alternatively you might consider selling the $37.50 puts and buying an equal no. of the $35 or $32.50 puts at the same time with the same expiry date to limit the potential risk>

Up until recently I was only approved for level1 options access through E*Trade (covered call writing) but I had put in an application a couple weeks ago to get upgraded to level2 (buy and sell calls and puts and write covered puts against stocks "sold short" in your account.) I just noticed yesterday that I had an alert from them saying I had been approved, unfortunately that won't help me since I would have to be short the stock in order to sell puts which is what I wanted to do (the reason for the application, I just hadn't read about the having to be short part) Can you (or anyone else on the thread) recommend a good broker that would clear me for writing naked puts. I will probably put in another application for level3 access because I agree with you that selling puts would make a lot of sense for a stock with as many positive aspects as AMD. But if they turn down that application I would definitely be open to switching brokers.

Thanks,

Epinephrine

PS: Good luck on those calls, I hope you are right, for your sake and for mine :)
