I remember all the criticism Intel received here for not planning years in advance for the capacity demands of todays market. I guess this means that AMD management failed to properly plan for the use of Dresden.

AMD did add capacity. The new fab in Dresden seemed like an excessive risk at the time. Now it's turns out that it was a good decision.

Elmer, Perhaps they planned the end of the Fujitsu deal to go with the commissioning of Dresden to take the load from FAB 25 Leaving it all for flash...ar a large part pf it. In addition Dresden is big enough to play both roles. In fact it is a superfab
