General Motors Corp - NP says GM recalls electric vehicles General Motors Corp GM Shares issued 753,008,273 2000-03-03 close $110.5 Monday Mar 6 2000 The National Post reports in its Saturday, March 4, edition that General Motors is recalling about 900 first-generation electric vehicles because they could catch fire while being recharged. The National Post's Briefing column reports that about 450 Generation I EV1 electric cars are being permanently taken off the road. Also recalled were 450 Chevrolet S-10 Electric pickup trucks. Owners of the S-10 pickups will be offered repairs to their trucks or the opportunity to purchase, at a reduced price, another GM vehicle.
