But the down swings tend to be faster and more violent- isn't that true? The slopes on the downsides of panics seem steeper than the upslopes in "buying" panics, or frenzies, or whatever you want to call them.

hb, why shouldn't we expect rotation from hi-tech (nasdaq) into low p/e stocks (dow)? a crash from nasdaq into dow?
