Captain, I don't see this getting a whole lot worse for MSFT. Every piece of news out this week with respect to the trial has been anti-MSFT.

When you look at the P/Es of stocks like CSCO, ORCL, SUNW, and others, it is just mind boggling and the reality is that fundamentally, MSFT is doing just as well as all of those companies if not better.

The bottom line though is that a stock is only worth what the market is willing to pay. Right now the market is not willing to give MSFT any kind of premium earnings multiple. There is one and only one reason for that, the trial.

As a MSFT shareholder, I want a settlement. I don't expect one but I want one. I've thought about selling this stock countless times and at times I actually have but only to buy back even more shares later on. The reason I keep coming back to MSFT is because the stock is just too cheap and the company is doing too many good things to stay under water forever.

The last thing that I would ever want is to sell MSFT and have a settlement announced the next day. I think I'd kill myself if that happened. I know the chances of that happening are slim but if it ever does, MSFT will jump 30-50 pts overnight.

Some might say you can buy other stocks because there are lots of Inut stocks going up 30 pts a day but we all know that will not last forever. I am terrible at timing the market and I'm sure if I ever jumped into one of those high flying stocks, it would be the kiss of death and it would go down 30 pts the day after I bought it.

For some reason I feel their is relative safety in MSFT despite it subpar stock performance. I'm trying to look long-term and it is difficult when other stocks are going up 100% a month. But one day, I have no idea when that day will come, MSFT will rise from the bottom of the sea and reclaim its spot as the premier technology company to own on Wall Street.
