Ramsey Su: Can't believe you made a one line post. :-)

Great summary of data rates by various Q flavors though, so I guess "rules" are guidelines, no?

Perhaps the thread originator will give you a pass.

Or is that too much nepotism? But that's you for you. Hey, that can't be nepotism, can it?

Best

And thanks BTW. Clear, concise, and to the point. Unlike this more than one line post.

Chaz

PS Just filling in while Maurice is off line, but this doesn't really qualify as a rant. Maybe I should go on........well.......maybe not.

Can you tell me why every big tech company is talking about wireless venture partnerships and no mention of Qualcom? I can only think of Wireless Knowledge partnership with MSFT.

Excuse my ignorance if some of the stuff is not telecom equipment related news.

Some examples for the past few weeks:

1. Oracle, Motorola in wireless Net partnership, Oracle Creates Wireless Unit

2. IBM, Nokia, Motorola Creating Phone, Device Standard

3. Texas Instruments to launch Web access chips

4. IBM, AT&T to offer wireless Web access

5. CSCO using ELON operating system

6. Zucotto Demonstrating Bluetooth Combined With Sun's Java Technology At CTIA, Zucotto's Recipe for Wireless Silicon Solutions Includes Xpresso System-on-a-chip, SLICE, and Jacknife --Enabling 3G Applications in Our 2G World -- Today!

7. Xerox and Nokia to Provide Document Access On Mobile Phones

8. Quokka Sports and Nokia Partner to Develop Wireless America's Cup Coverage

9. SCM Microsystems Teams With Nokia to Develop Terrestrial Broadband Receiver For the PC

10.Nokia and AOL Team for E-commerce

11.Nokia And Viag Demonstrate Wireless Applications over GPRS

12.Nokia Demonstrates Electronic Mobile Payment Services With Visa And MeritaNordbanken

13.Nokia teams with Amazon.com in mobile commerce

14.Nokia To Expand Wireless Internet Billing Platform with Portal Software

15.Nokia and KPN Demonstrate Secure Mobile E-Commerce with WAP

16.[audio] Pacific Rim Wrap: Nokia, Fuji Film Team on Wireless Digital Imaging

Am I missing something or is there a storm taking place around Qualcom?

*OTOT* Money

Ramsey ..I finally got around to reading that Money piece and to my amusement found that while you guys got the cover I got the last laugh. What was intended as a glib tongue in cheek, sarcastic, self-deprecating remark was taken at face value and used as the centerpiece for the concluding paragraphs, proof in fact that the "bubble" had to burst. My reputation for superficial and debased analysis remains in tact, and now you've ALL been warned, when you see me coming, it's time to SELL!

And thanks to all you flame keepers, it's great to witness the revival of the thread..

Maurice perhaps you should come back now?

Rich Janitor.. I think the Conextant excutive interviewed in the BW hit piece has a point.. It is unlikely that the world will organize itself in such a way as to pay one company 20bil dollars in royalties/yr. Others will make important breakthroughs and the pie will have to be divided. By then though, who knows what other games these guys'll be up to?

Best to everyone.. Dave
