I cannot say more to that than "amen" and I hope we meet in a more worthy state. As prosperous as the state is, I find it an exasperating place to live. I've been involved in a local initiative here in Huntington Beach and we're up against not only the mayor and city council but also Wal-Mart and George Argyros (Arnel Development). On my part it isn't because we're NIMBYS or anti-growth, we're just against a bad business deal.

The Mayor (who borrowed money to do this) and two city council members, the director of the city staff and George Argyros are investors in a start-up bank here in town. The city attorney's son works for Arnel Development. The consultant who advised on the project was also deeply involved in the Belmont Learning Center in LA, a fiasco that is on-going. Is it any wonder this deal stinks.!
