Short Interest. This was posted on Yahoo and I agree. I'm soooo tired of saying the word "short". ------- I didn't see that anyone posted the Feb short interest numbers. From WSJ On-line (need a subscription), the following was recently posted: THQI short interest as of Feb 15th was 4,990,612, vs short interest of 5,620,920 as of Jan 15th. I believe these figures actually are for positions as of 3 business days prior to the 15th. At any rate, it is clear that there was some minor short covering, but no wholesale short covering during the big down days on big volume we experienced. In a way this in encouraging, since it shows that the buyers on those big down days were "real" buyers, and not just shorts covering their positions.
