I think that was the point of AMD's recent statement that they would not release 1GHz until they could ship in volume. I think they were saying that they were not going to be rushed by a low volume Intel launch, which I think would pretty much be a forgone conclusion for any launch made in the next month or two, Intel has even gone so far as to announce that their GHz release would be very low volumes at first. That coupled with the fact that it takes time to Fab and package a ship lead me to believe that if AMD plans to release 1GHz as Thunderbird they must already be committing to it with certain either/or decisions. BTW, I think Thunderbirds may come long before Q3. Again just my crackpot opinion :)
