Hi Kemble! Re: "I just received a message from a close friend up here...His broker is advising him to BUY MORE DELL...He says that the word is spreading that DELL is not just a box maker and their B2B initiatives are becoming know...Of course I won't publically tell ya what he told his broker..." :o)Best, Kemble

We had gorgeous weather this weekend. Yesterday, Daniel wanted ice cream, while we were walking around an unfamiliar strip center. He sat down on a bench, right in front of an A.G. Edwards branch. A huge sign was posted that listed about ten companies and what the ROI would have been as of 8/99, if you had invested $10,000 (I think ten years before). At the top of the list was Dell. $10,000 invested was as of 8/99 worth $5.8 million plus. The others on the list were far behind...:)Leigh

- Dell names Randy Mott chief information officer
ROUND ROCK, Texas, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp. (DELL.O) said on Monday it has named former Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT.N) executive Randy Mott to be its chief information officer and senior vice president.
Mott replaces Jim Schneider, Dell's senior vice president of finance, who had been serving as Dell's CIO on an interim basis since October.

Mott will manage Dell's global information technology infrastructure, including the company's Internet activities. He will report on a daily basis to Vice Chairman Kevin Rollins and he will be an executive committee member reporting to the office of the chief executive officer.

Mott was named senior vice president and chief information officer of Wal-Mart in 1994 and joined the company's executive committee in 1997. Mott was recognized by Information Week magazine as "CIO of the Year" in 1997, Dell said.
