Actually it seems that they are just increasing the paperwork
necessary for a company to process an official change of business.

Thats doesn't mean that companies cannot still quadruple
their value in a day just by announcing that they are farting
in the direction of the internet or high-tech :)

That's why I sold my mining gone Internet stocks and bought a mining only company instead. <ggg> Could be some nasty falls next week.

CNDX crackdown? - well maybe, but I have had a live hi quality datafeed and charting on the VSE since 1994 and I reckon there have been times when VSE surveillance appear to have looked the other way, depending on what the company was involved and who the principals. Together with some of the horrendous practices permitted like letting certain institutions run up a stock after the announcement of a financing and then permit the same institutions to short against the lower priced options. Because these same institutions perhaps sit on the board this practice wasn't stopped and probably still isn't. So certain attrocious practices are permitted others aren't! Because of this loosy goosy situation, it simply encouraged various elements to prey on the unsuspecting public. Perhaps the CDNX is changed, perhaps not. I suspect that the availability of the Internet has redistributed some of the available money to be made to others besides the promoters, insiders, financial institutions, and those groups likely aren't too happy about the situation. Unfair practices such as certain firms who pay little or no brokerage fees continue. Oh well we c if the CDNX cuts down on the unfair practices too, nothing wrong with ensuring that a mining company going Internet has a solid business plan, just make sure the financing, who does it, what priveleges are permitted are fair too!
