Guree : I regret to say my enthusiasm for gold (in a recent post) was misplaced.

Alan was right --- the correct play was, in fact, to evacuate on the spike. I felt further meditation on the bed of nails would be rewarded with nirvana. I was wrong. All I experienced was more pain in the ars.

On the upside though, the longer crude prices stay above $25/barrel, the more it remains worthwhile to find and exploit additional reserves.

This will only undermine OPEC's market position even more.
