I know - I can believe a mistake with 1 bullet, or even 2 each; but 41 and 19 hitting him, and at least half of those were when he was down; there is no excuse for this. They were not threatened when he went down - stop firing.

it's sad when police are given approval for not giving a citizen the right to identify himself before they start shooting. It doesn't even sound as if they gave him a chance. It was a difficult situation in a tough neighborhood...however, of anyone in our society, the police should be responsible for, if not required, giving the benefit of doubt...our right to freedom demands it.

Their fear is justified, but in my opinion, their actions are not.
