ABX successful? What a joke. Not for ABX shareholders. Their strategy which has helped depress the gold price has done little more than modestly reduce the downward pressure on ABX stock compared to non hedgers when gold tanks. And one can make a strong argument that POG would be considerably higher if ABX moved to cover their shorts -- to the benefit of ABX shareholders and gold industry shareholders in general. But Monk's bullion banker pals would not go for this at all.
