Ike, re: smart money index: it's based on the idea that the sheep trade in the first half hour, and the smart money in the last half hour. if the Dow is positive in the first 1/2hr., a negative value is assigned to those Dow points. a negative first 1/2hr. is assigned a positive value. it's the other way around with Dow points gained/lost during the last half hour of trading. after years of about +1pt. for the first and +1,5 pt. for the last 1/2hr on average, we had since the October low a -24 for the first 1/2 hr. and a -6,8 for the last 1/2 hr., indicating that the public was intensely bullish, while the 'professionals' got cautious.
