Dennis,

Chuck Berry's Sweet Little Sixteen and the Beach Boys' Surfin USA have always sounded to me like the same melody....anybody else notice that?

You're going to make me dig out some old albums, aren't you? I know I have "Surfin'" but I'm not sure about "16" unless it's on one of my compilation albums. I'm having a hard time getting by the first verse of that one.

Certainly, there are many instances of minor plagiarism in music but the best example I remember was actually self-plagiarism by "The Four Tops" when they followed up their #1 hit "Can't Help Myself" with the appropriately titled "It's the Same Old Song" which indeed was - the same song with different lyrics. :)

Gary
