Possible viewpoint with which to consider recent market activity....random thought department:

The Fed's creating a buying opportunity.
The perception that Greenspan's hurting the market is mostly due to the difference between his time-frame and that of others who have grown accustomed to 20%+ per year gains.
It's the classic "patient" timeframe vs the timeframe engendered by the "new economy" model that seems to have come into vogue recently.
The patient timeframe calls for general increase in valuations. New economy timeframe calls for increase in valuations.
Uncertainty over the clash between these two timeframes has caused (or is causing) what uncertainty usually does...
