My feelings are that Palm made it on the cover of Barron's. It's receiving enormous publicity, and will continue to receive hype in coming weeks. Barrons gave "palm" its hype, but in the only way Barron's knows how to, regarding a technology play. Barrron's has been negative on the basic technology industry for years. The IPO's have been hot for 2 years, and I can't think of one with better potential! 1) Top Sector: A wireless play, 2) Goldman Sacks: #1 underwriter; 3) Gorilla Game investing: Moore has indicated "palm" as a gorilla candidate due to its 68% market share; 4) profitability; 5) a product that almost anyone can use; 6) alliances with all of the major players; 7) nok, mot, aol are taking ownership stakes. Think of all of the marginal ipo's that triple on opening day. I can't even remember their names or their niches now. Unless I received some of the ipo! We all know Goldman will boost the price because of demand, the stock will sky rocket, and we will profit. Is there any other alternative? Common sense says no. There is no way this ipo doesn't simply fly. This IPO has every conceivable edge going for it. The only way I would feel differently and question my logic is if Abelson was positive about "palm". lol Let's enjoy the ride. We know its coming. Profit from it, and appreciate that we are in.
