Spiral3, I'll second uncle dubya's comments about the FM, and about our friendliness...you already know the standards obviously.

I'll encourage your interest. Get hold of a copy and dogear that sucker for a while. Go back to #18187 and pull up the reports already submitted to see the format we follow, and when you feel suitably comfortable, don't be shy about offering your talents.

People tell us we're a tough crowd. True, but only in that we gather facts and reorganize them into a fabric all of us can understand. There are a lot of different talents here, but we still have lots of room for new ones.

Chaz

unclewest/chaz: project hunt. OT personal response.

spiral, this is the friendliest thread anywhere. i have learned that...you will and should expect to be challenged when proposing a candidate. it is not demeaning...it is challenging.

you will also get tons of help and i do mean tons. no one wants to miss a winner...but, if you have not rtfm a coupla times, you will never understand the game being played and the assistance will be wasted.

sometimes i have heard not what i wanted to hear...but it was what i needed to hear. i am careful to pay attention...and not miss the subtleties of great experience and wisdom available here.unclewest

I believe that any misunderstanding of the term "face the music" is due to my sloppy choice of words. It has a perjorative slant and this was not my intention at all when I used it. It is precisely because I sense the deep respect and cameradie here that I am here at all. This is a remarkable cyber-community and I for one am glad that I found this forum.

I fully expect to be challenged on my posts and if that were not the case this discussion would be meaningless. I wish I would have known about the gg much earlier and will definitely get around to reading RTFM. It appears that the framework it provides can really help one to crystalize ones ideas about investing. The concepts are being field tested as we speak and it is an interesting approach. Anything that can help is good.

My reluctance to post a Hunt Report has mostly to do with a lack of available time. It is not out of disrespect to the thread for I can think of no finer place for something like this to be published. It is out of respect to the contributors here that I would feel a responsibility to become a very available and active thread participant, and right now other committments prevent me from doing this. My DD is not filed and organized and it would be too demanding a task at this point for me to pull together a meaty report.

My work is not in their industry, I am not a techie, I am laymen and an amatuer investor. I did a lot of DD before buying, but obviously I never analyzed it in gg terms. I bought this stock, initially in the single digits, on a vision-networked world/mngmnt-top tier/first to mkt with yrs of research behind them/growth-if you beleive/no debt/patents/csco/sun/Arthur Rock kind of thing. I have found Elon to be quite difficult to understand crisply and clearly, and find any good discussion about them to be quite compelling, but sadly rather rare - beleive me I am all ears. I will be around and may chip in now and then, with no opinions on gg metrics - if that would be appropriate, but for a report I honestly feel that it's best served by someone who knows enough about the company and who can give it the kind of time it requires and deserves. I'm sure this person will be well received...I feel like I've been.

I decided to make this a public post. Plse let me know if things like this should be PM in future.

Huge Thanks to all those responsible for helping to get my friends and I into the mighty Q.

Viva Elon.
