"the pennies have twice the risk and half the return. . .when held long."

This is probably why William Jepsen uses the RatDog formula for buying and selling the micro caps.

Interestingly enough I stumbled on an article last year about valuations of Internet related companies. Which I want to find again but haven't been able to. The article basically said that the leader of the group will hold a lions share of the total market cap given to that sector. Graphed on a Log scale it showed a straight line from the leader down to the last player. Basically it said to me that one is better off focusing on the leader of the sector and the investor will make bigger gains over the long haul.
So basically just pay attention wait and see who the street identifies as the leader in a group. Once the leader shows its head then the investor is better off latching on and enjoying the ride.

QCOM - wireless phones
PLUG - alternative power, specifically Fuel Cell
RBAK - DSL
CMRC - B2B
BEAS - Middleware
and the list goes on.

all leaders in their respective sector and the valuation shows it.

P.S. PHCM broke out and is looking to head to new highs.
