Joel, Yep. You know Townsend. I called Nashville home for a long time but moved up here several years ago to be at the doorstep of the Appalachian Trail. I backpack the hell out of it and know every step between Springer Mountain, Ga and Virginia. It's what I do when not on the road and working. Hopefully, with V's help I can get off the damn road and let my stocks do the work. (Funny, you should mention Cades Cove. Did a 16 mile overnight loop from there couple days ago.)
