they rightly pointed out that the trade costs are quite high, so achieving constant trade profits is required to make daytrading overall profitable - see the graph showing the commission burden depending of the number of daily trades.

But then, they did not pay attention to much higher costs - the displayed spread or the virtual, invisible actual spread which is much much higher than the $20, $30 commissions on a round trip.

For me, the lesson is clear. All depends on myself whether I restrict my trading activities to a relatively small number of daily round turns and concentrating on situations which provide for a high % of profitability in comparison to total trade costs. ...
