Yes, Roth's LEAPS is a good general options primer. In post 3 of our thread there's a direct link to Amazon so you can easily purchase it. The Thomsett book is also supposed to be a good starter book, though I haven't read it.

As this is Voltaire's thread, I don't think it's right for me to get too deep into discussion on covered calls and LEAPs here, but we'll happy to discuss them over on our thread, particularly because my strategies vary from Voltaire's, as do Jill's. One's option strategy must be tailored to:
1. the size of the account
2. one's risk tolerance
3. one's goals (capital preservation, aggressive growth, monthly income, etc.)
4. one's ability to monitor her or his positions.

The cool thing about options is that there are lots of different strokes for different folks.

Hi cg, I think it's best you come on over to the thread and we or others will try to ask your options questions there. LEAPS is in plain English, in other words, its easy to undrestand even for a newbie and a good place to start for options.
