That's a great story Rick. Just imagine how much wealth is about to be transferred to the baby boomers by the death of their beloved parents.

regards,

V

P.S. - yes I feel this HDR deal could really kick us off again, I still feel every piece of news like that just keeps raising the bottom.

Whew...! Thanks Rick...

I trace my material adulthood to my dad dying just under 4 yrs ago. He worked 38 yrs for the Dept. of State Highways. He retired when he was 62 and died less than three years later. He had ~ 300 grand from saving....and all of it was in just that: savings and checking accts. He left me 50 thousand. I now have my own home and quite a bit more in net worth than he did at his death.

Not a day goes by...not one..where I don't feel thanks to him. He knows.

Thank you too...
Darin

Man that was a great post, very touching and something that your dad would be and I bet is proud of. It's every son's or daughter's dream to do that for their parents of which their parents have done for them a lot longer without expecting anything in return. In regards to your dad, I know being the father of two daughters(Gods gift of gifts)my goal in life is not what I can do for myself, but how well I can leave my family stress free and not a financial worry in the world and I feel this is how your father felt, wow what a love parents have for their children and family!(the love I have given them and will leave them, unfortunately will not pay the expenses they face in the years to come) I know the feeling you were experiencing when you told your mom of her surprise, I love doing this for my parents too.

It seems that you are the results of two great parents, thanks for reminding me how lucky I am to have both parents still here to appreciate and take care of for as long as they need me.

Thanks
Coonaz
