This may help in timing Dell's higher valuations:

personalwealth.com

" Windows 2000 is actually four different operating systems - not
one. And we believe this operating system (OS), which replaces Windows
NT 4.0, is crucial to Microsoft's long term success.

Three of the four operating system versions were introduced February 17. Windows 2000
Professional is the desktop and laptop OS. Windows 2000 Server is a network OS for
departmental file and print, Web and entry-level application servers. Windows 2000 Advanced
Server is the server OS for mission-critical Web and application servers. Windows 2000
Datacenter Server should be available in three months. This version is the high-end server OS
for the most demanding levels of availability and scale."

I am betting you will not be able to purchase Dell shares below $50 three months from now? It's anyone's guess what MSFT will be worth by then? But currently at just over $91 it got to be a bargain.

Just keep you eyes on GTW & SUNW IMO they are foretelling how successful the worries of WINDOWS2000 is to them both.
