Mtn Lady,

I'm awed by the forthrightness and loving concern you showed in that post. It made me think a great deal about my own children, now both adolescents. From when they were little children, I've spent a lot of time talking to them about the lessening effects of all kinds of prejudice and judgementalism, as well as living the kind of ideal I preached. I can't tell you how much it means to me to now see my own daughters living with open hearts, and speaking up when they experience injustice.

If I do nothing else in this life, seeing that I have nudged evolution along via my own family is enough for me.

simply stated, on behavior and acceptance

I think our selfesteem is developed early, like under age 10
our adolescent behavior is full of testing waters

but it also is fraught with self-fulfilling behavior toward desired acceptance or lack of acceptance

then as adults we are much more in control of our behavior, so that we much more often than not can manifest the behavior that produces the desired or expected result

how many times have you heard someone say?
- I always get it wrong
- I know you are gonna think I am stupid
- women just dont like me
- I am so forgetful
- I never remember people's names
- I am always saying offcolor things
- I never fit in

enough, Jim
