In terms of pure market chat, I find both RB and Yahoo to be ahead of SI. I can find a post about the semi-obscure stocks I favor (like TMWD and GNSS) there pretty much every time I look. Sure, it's noisy, but there's info there long before it shows up on SI or the reputable news channels.
The one truly golden asset of SI was the Coffee Shop, a place where folks intelligent and lively enough to place bets on the market could just hang out and be friends, neighbors, conspirators in sharing a cyberkeg. And it is THIS body of members that is most sorely affected by the unceremonious removal of the good old format.
I don't have a crystal ball, but if anything is going to hurt SI as a going concern, it will be the atrophy of the Coffee Shop. I'm still here, but some dear old netfriends ... gosh, I hope they don't take their ball and go home.
