hiya charlie,
I contacted endofday by email and this is the reply I got re metastock:
------
Olga,

Thank you for your interest in End Of Day Data Corp. The MetaStock ASCII format in our downloader is an ASCII format that can be read into metastock format by MetaStock's conversion program.

We are currently beta testing this version with a number of beta testers, so our instruction sheets are not yet written.

Hopefully, we'll have draft instructions in a week or two. I'd like to keep your name on file and contact you with instructions when they become available.

Hope this meets your approval,

Roland Harisch

So since I have metastock I want something compatible and easy to use with metastock.

So when you friend has to convert the data, does it take long or is it a snap, relatively?
Olga

hi olga
we were talking in late feb about endofday data used in conjunction with metastock. i have been using the system for about two weeks now and am happy to report that it works very well. it is simply a matter of downloading the end of day info and converting it with downloader7.0 provided by metastock. very easy and accurate.

if you are using metastock you already know what a great trading program it is. i am now learning to write my own exploration formulas. i find the charts to be crisp and clear.

i must mention that i did buy a new computer to speed up the download and exploration process. it is a 600 processer i had twin 10 gigabit hard drives put in that turn at 7200 rather than the 5400 most computers have. this allows me to run two functions at once.

i would also like to comment on the recent discount brokerage controversy. i decided to stay with my full service broker. i negotiated a 1% fee with a $100.00 minimum on small trades. i have had 100% execution on my trades and am convinced that under the current canadian system that execution is far more important than fees.

good trading to you
charlie
