Brown said Tuesday it expects software giant Oracle Corp. (NasdaqNM:ORCL - news) to strike more deals in the hot business-to-business e-commerce sector on the heels of its alliance with two retail heavyweights. --DB Alex reiterated its strong buy rating on Oracle shares. --On Monday, Oracle announced a deal with Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE:S - news) and Carrefour Supermarche SA to launch the first global business-to-business online exchange for the retail industry. The exchange, called GlobalNetXcchange, will be based on Oracle's technology and initially focus on Sears' and Carrefour's combined $80 billion in purchases from 50,000 suppliers, partners and distributors. That followed the online procurement network announced by General Motors (NYSE:GM - news), Ford Motor (NYSE:F - news) and DaimlerChrysler AG (NYSE:DCX - news) -- also to be run by Oracle. --``We expect Oracle to provide more concrete information and data about its new automotive and retail exchanges as it brings these two sites live over the next few weeks,' said Jim Moore, an analyst at DB Alex. ``Oracle is holding its cards close to its vest regarding additional exchange opportunities,' the firm said.
