daffodil is talking about not even being able to find many of the old threads, anything that hasn't been posted to recently doesn't even show on the go2net site ... to give an example, i spend a lot of time in GM&NR - siliconinvestor.com
... in real SI there were links down at the bottom of that sector page to archives by year all the way back to '96, there was important historical information in those threads, i have used them a lot ... back when real SI was available, lol

Also, there were two other useful urls - a link to a page giving the last 25 messages within GM&NR [extremely time-saving, that], and a link to a page called 'Hot Links', which was a list of research links, metals quote sites, and the like ... but on this go2net site, nothing ... and the go2net GM&NR sector page itself is extremely hard to read with that stupid way of lettering it and those glaring stripes. SI was legible, something one would think other sites would emulate, lol.

You're talking about scanning back through a thread you can actually find on the go2net site - well it was a whole lot easier with the hundred-ranges of real SI ... yesterday i decided to say hi to a crapstock tout with whom i had sparred around a year ago, it took two three minutes tops to come up with his second post on SI so that i could respond to it - Message 12984590
... grinding back the doddering go2net way with the pages loading like fat sloppy pigs on Quaaludes would have taken many times as long, i just wouldn't have bothered ... i guess the crapstock touts will love that, like they love the ignore button.

Now there is another thing, that ignore button ... talk about counterproductive to the free flow of ideas, to the original Dryer concept ... but that is for another post ... cheers
