I am not certain, but do not believe that SILI makes ceramic capacitors. If I recall correctly, those are made by VSH, SILI's parent. Here is a good business summary for SILI:

Siliconix Inc. designs, markets, and manufactures power and analog semiconductor products. The Company focuses on technologies and products for the communications, computer, and automotive markets. Additionally, many of the Company's products are also used in instrumentation and industrial applications. All of the analog and power products produced by Siliconix can be divided into two general classes: discrete devices and integrated circuits (IC). Discrete devices are active components that generate, control, regulate, amplify, or switch electronic signals or energy. They must be interconnected with other, passive components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, inductors, etc.) to create an electronic circuit. ICs consist of a number of active and passive components, interconnected on a single chip, that are intended to perform a specific function.

Check out -- www.eetimes.com -- for more technical information. Search for Siliconix. I am going to try and post some links but not sure they will work. There are several interesting article either about or mentioning SILI or its products. The EE site was pretty good.

Looks like I was right: SILI does not make ceramic capacitors, they are made by VSH, SILI's parent. Anyone following SILI and VSH ought to check out the information in these links.

I added to my SILI position last week at $75. SILI is still a great buy and IMO will likely hit $150 within six months and $200 within 12 months, if not more and sooner.

Since it is currently trading at less than 17x this years likely EPS (which I figure at around $4.75 to $4.80) and is growing at four times that rate, SILI remains a true value and growth play in the tech sector.
