Seagate Tech Files To Sell 1M SanDisk Shares

WASHINGTON -- Seagate Technology Inc. (SEG), a SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) shareholder, filed to sell 1 million shares of SanDisk common stock, according to a Form 144 released Thursday by the Securities and Exchange Commission. A Form 144 indicates an intention to sell restricted stock and opens the door for an individual to sell the shares, but doesn't indicate that the actual sale of the shares will occur or has occurred. Seagate intended to sell the shares on the Nasdaq Stock Market between Feb. 14 and Feb. 17 through Banc of America Securities, according to the SEC filing.

Steve, I was tempted to buy ENER last year because of the IP as it relates to NiMH batteries.

I understand they have not been able to capitalize on their patents with meaningful licensing revenue streams. Something just didn't smell right.

Now I notice the stock has tripled in value since I last looked. The Ovonyx technology seems interesting and may replace flash in logic applications, especially if it can be incorporated within another chip function as outlined on the Internet audio broadcast. I think the jury is still out as to whether it will be a cost effective replacement for storage applications where arguments about the limitation of flash w/r/t write speed and cell endurance are not relevant based on the current state-of-the-art.
