The value chain formation precedes the tornado, precedes the bowling alley, precedes the chasm.

I agree that the value chain forms pre tornado but I have to question it forming pre chasm and bowling alley.
I find it difficult visioning a value chain of any meaning forming around a company not yet across the chasm.
Once a company is knocking down pins in the bowling alley other companies see opportunity and jump in to support the G candidate and make some money for themselves and at the same time help the tornado to form.
Most companies are very reluctant to risk their own money and reputation on a company not across the chasm.

Is there an example of a tornado forming pre chasm/bowling alley??
