The Barron's anti-Palm article just mentioned a few cellular service providers and the major handset manufacturers... with respect to giving competition to the Palm. As Qualcomm does not fit into either category (excluding the G* niche), I'm not that surprised QCOM was left out. Note also that there was no discussion of CDMA/GSM/TDMA.

Elsewhere in the issue QCOM received a great mention (although not from "staff") in regards to being the next MSFT (mentioned elsewhere on this thread).

I recall QCOM being mentioned very favorably last year in Barron's in the early stages of the huge runup... I think the anti QCOM thing is way, way overblown.

Finally, with regards to the WSJ's massively misguided article on QCOM sometime ago... justice has been at least partially served as the editiors of the recent Money cover story on QCOM's quillionaires kept a mention of the wrongness of the WSJ article in the story.
