reif the government sets out to help you you will be the first one hurt "Poor" did not used to be a dirty word. I began my teaching career working with poor families who were excited about life, and about the possibility of working hard and improving their standard of living. Now I refuse to work in "poor" schools: I have seniority so I can avoid it. Why did I refuse? The "poor" now consider that we "owe" them something. (*I realize these descriptions will not fit 100% of people: I am telling you my experience.) They don't care if they work or not since there are programs that will often pay more than they deserve to be paid....because they have not yet gotten skills, or are unwilling to be on time, pleasant to co-workers, etc and so forth. In my early experiences I found much church-going, morality, responsibity one's children: now I see an attitude of "well let the school take care of it"...school lunch and breakfast programs are an example of things that have no business being there: parents in this type of school just figure it's no longer their job to prepare food for their own children. Oh well. On to socialism. The other problem is that we have a very cruel, punitive type of socialism. When 83 people can be murdered by the government, when an unarmed immigrant can be murdered by the police, when a man defending his home from government agents that want to add his land to a government park is murdered, etc etc etc and all these things happen with NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE ACTIONS OF THE AGENTS WHO MURDERED then we are on the road to slavery for all of us. And when survivors sue and win: who pays? Right you do,not the people that committed the crime. Retributions come from tax money. For anyone out there who still feels free: I guess you care only about your own life. You care nothing for others. Best wishes to all, anyway. Freeus
