Ausdauer,

I believe that Palm should focus on the Palm OS platform, not the PDA hardware. Palm's goal is to make Palm OS the only viable platform for all handheld devices, including MP3 players, digital cameras, cell phones, and many more. Its OS should support removable storage, but it should be up to other Palm-OS-based PDA-manufactures to make that decision.

I believe that RTG makes a Palm-based PDA that supports Compact Flash and MicroDrive. Sony is adding memory stick to its upcoming Palm-based handheld computers.

I am sure that 3Com PDAs will have removable storage one day, but I have not heard anyone complaining about not having one. The reason is that removable storages are great for multimedia applications. Until 3Com moves to a more powerful CPU that's capable of processing multimedia data, there is little use for the extended storage. (I think this day could happen any time.)

Regards,

Khan
