This was the week to mortgage your Grandmother's house, take out a second mortgage on your own house, hock your wife's/husband's (girlfriend's/boyfriend's) valuables of any sort and be in the chip/chip equipment portion of the market. The past week's results are awesome! 32 stocks were up, and only 3 were down. The range ran from a 53 percent gain for VECO to a 7 percent loss for PHTN. 21 stocks were up 10 percent or more, and 8 stocks were up 20 percent or more. The group average was up 13 percent while the SOX-X had even headier performance with a gain of 17 percent.
