Thanks OX, if you meant price per share, the math still doesn't work. Out of the six stocks selling for $100+ the average decline off the peaks is still 17.8% and the percentages drop more the lower the price averages.

So even if the DJI only measures the stocks above $100 to set the index, it's still not right.

Edit: PS: Is the price weighted deal some kind of important indicator or was it picked as a purely arbitrary one. It doesn't seem to me to be anywhere near as important an indicater as "anything" else. <ggg>
