What's been sticking in my mind the last few days is that after this thing gets repriced and the deal is done Palm is going to have a LOT of money to invest.

And what's even bigger is that this thing is going to get valued so high that Palm will be able to go shopping with its stock, won't it?

Bottom line to me is that it's a real paradigm shift, one that is hard for a COMS-mentality investor to come to grips with. I don't like to play with the gravity defying stuff, and all of a sudden Palm has put me in that position.

My inclination here is to just hold on for dear life.

Andre

Gary, as a neutral observer (I only have a very small COMS position in my IRA, which I will hold indefinitely for sentimental reasons), I think that the long term threat to Palm from Symbian and Microsoft is very real. However, I doubt it will affect short term behavior around this IPO time.
