In the scenario you just proposed,
Palm would be worth $58 billion
and COMS (including 93% of PALM) $41 billion
If you back out cash (not investments) and non-Palm COMS (at a P/S of 1), you're left with the 93% of PALM COMS owns being valued at $34 billion ($37 prorated value for all of PALM).

So the discount would be $23/$60 = ~40%

Looks big to me. IMO anybody wanting PALM would get in this way. IMO there is very very little risk that those shares won't get distributed.

Guess we'll have to wait for $100 and see :)
